Booked a table for 11 three days prior to our visit, arrived & no table was booked, sorted ourselves a table big enough ordered four pizzas, fish & the rest carveries, the carvery food was awful almost inedible the stuffing was rock hard & the roasters were burnt within an inch of their lives, we waited 40 minutes for pizzas after being told 8 minutes, the poor girl doing the pizzas was also the one that carved the meat, she was absolutely ran ragged, no chips or ketchup so had to ask again, overall its such a poor poor service & I think weve given this place more than enough chances, my advice if you want a decent carvery with edible food then dont come here.
Very fatty meat and nothing was said when i told the staff either. a sorry would of been good.....sadley food was warm. this place needs a update and staff that care about the customers .very poor all rounder... shame really it has potential
Nice clean and tidy friendly staff. Carvery was okay we went mid afternoon so food was little on the low side and gravy could have done with being replaced with fresh.
We visited here with family. We're not from the local area and was told this was a nice place to eat. The carvey looked good so we all decided to go for that plus a kids meal. The portion sizes were bug even though I only went for a small. The selection of veg was good and lots of it. The meet was good apart from the beef that was a bit dry. Shame there was no chicken or Turkey. The guy on the carvery was great very friendly. The kids meal was a good size. The table area wasn't as clean as I'd have liked as there was food under the table probably from the people before. The place wasn't busy so I was surprised to see this. The play area was a nice touch for the kids. All in all a nice visit and I would return just hope it's cleaner next time and I'd like to see chicken as an option for those who don't eat red meat.
Pleasant, comfortable traditional pub with carvery & pizza bar. Outside seating pleasant in summer & good parking facilities. Staff polite & helpful. Carvery food OK, usually cooked nicely. Never tried pizza but variety of salad & vegetables good, though sometimes the latter are overcooked. Quiz night on Tuesdays fun if that's your thing. Visit here often for good value meals.
